The Oklahoma Goldback series draws from the Sooner State's layered history — Native American heritage, frontier roots, and the perseverance that defines Oklahoma's character. Eight denominations of .9999 fine 24k gold feature allegorical artwork honoring the values Oklahoma has carried through boom, bust, and everything between.

Each Oklahoma Goldback contains real gold physically embedded into the note using a patented vacuum deposition process. Gold content is proportional to the denomination — from 1/2000th of a troy ounce in the ½ Goldback up to 1/10th of a troy ounce in the 100 Goldback. Produced by American artists with the same standards applied to every Goldback in the program.

How much gold is in an Oklahoma Goldback?

Each Oklahoma Goldback holds a fixed amount of .9999 fine 24k gold, set by its denomination. The ½ holds 1/2,000 of a troy ounce, the 1 holds 1/1,000, the 10 holds 1/100 and the 100 holds 1/10. The gold is physically embedded in the note through a patented vacuum deposition process.

What is on the Oklahoma Goldback artwork?

The ½ shows Honestas (Honor) driving longhorns on the Chisholm Trail, and the 1 shows Perseverantia (Perseverance) in the Land Run of 1889. The 5 recalls the 1905 Glenpool Oil Strike, the 25 shows Hospitalitas (Hospitality) on Route 66, and the 100 honors the 45th Infantry "Thunderbird" Division of the Oklahoma National Guard.
